Warding off Wrinkles
Wrinkles are inevitable. But you can do a lot to keep them off of your face for years! To help slow down the hands of time on our faces try:
- Limiting Your Time In The Sun. Sun damage is the #1 reason we wrinkle. Wear an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
- Eat Lots of Fruits, Vegetables and Fish. They are packed with all the nutrients your skin needs.
- Stay Hydrated. Your skin needs at leas 8 glasses of water a day to stay supple.
- Learn to Relax. Stress makes us older before our time – and our skin shows it.
- Don’t Smoke. Cigarettes dry out the skin, making it wrinkle prematurely.
Even when you do everything right, wrinkles do eventually show up on all of us. When that times come, here are a few treatments to help you deal with them better:
- Use Topical Retinoids. Available by prescription, they help the body produce more collagen in the skin.
- Lasers; a great way to erase skin damaged wrinkles by vaporizing the skin’s damaged top-layer.
- Chemical Peels help reduce aging and wrinkling by removing deeper layers of damaged skin with a mild acid solution.
- Botox is growing in popularity due to its simplicity and ease. By injecting botulinum toxin (Botox), into the skin, the wrinkled area is immobilized, smoothing them away.
