Decorating for babys first party

Baby's first birthday seems to arrive in the blink of an eye and all of a sudden there's lots of planning to be done. What an exciting time, mothers fantasize about the birthday parties they will throw and the decorations they will create. Is there a certain theme? Should you treat it like any other birthday party? Yes! Have a blast with it just because baby can't tell you what she wants doesn't mean you cant make it a hit on your own. Here are some cute and fun ideas baby and guests are sure to notice.

A classic idea or theme could be rubber ducks these little guys have been floating around baby tubs for generations. Why not add them to the décor? Party warehouses or crafts stores have rubber ducks of all sorts. A great idea is to place actual rubber ducks in the bunch bowl or if you want to get real creative you can place one in everyone's glass, this is cute and it's guaranteed to catch people's eye. This idea works better with clear glasses and as long as people don't mind sharing with their new duck friends.

Another option is to take you plane plastic or glass snack containers and paint ducks on them. You can use stencil or paint them yourself a cute scene for a serving platter would be the mommy duck followed by all her babies (you can even put little bonnets on them).you can also paint your own table cover. First get a stamp or sponge shaped like a duck and place them randomly around the cloth. If this idea is too much because it seems it will clutter the place with ducks use a solid color like blue or pink, this is very baby like.

The best thing to do is pull together many ideas; you can use the ducks and incorporate other ideas so you don't have a mess of ducks everywhere. Another cute decorating idea is your own little one. Take his or her picture and place them in the middle of the tables or buffet table. The pictures can be baby's first smile, bath, crawling etc… then you can place little labels on them.

Another idea is to enlarge a close up of baby and laminate it making cute placemats that last past baby's first party. Another table cloth idea would be to use you baby's foot and handprint this is really cute and would go with the placemats. The rubber ducks randomly floating about will go well with all these ideas. You could also make a picture mobile and hang it from the ceiling, doorways or window this is also a cute conversation piece for quests who might not have seen each other since mommy and daddy's wedding day.

One last cute idea before we venture off on our birthday fun is the gift bags, after all there is bound to be other babies or children there. For the fellow one year olds hand out sippy cups filled with a small personalized rubber duck in it along with a couple bath puppets. For the children get a bunch of plastic kiddy cups and fill it with a personalized rubber duck and the washable bath crayons. These gift cups will make each child anticipating tubby time. Whatever you decide to do take lots of pictures and enjoy the first of many to come.
