Windsock

Making a rainbow windsock is a fun St. Patrick's Day craft for kids. For this craft you will need a sheet of yellow felt, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple ribbon, fabric glue, and scissors. Start this project by helping kids cut long pieces of ribbon from all of the colors. If the ribbon is thin you may like to use more than one piece.

Help kids glue each ribbon to the shorter edge of the felt and allow it to dry. Next help kids roll the felt into a tube and glue the long sides shut to keep it secure. When the tube has dried cut a hole in opposite sides of the windsock where there is no ribbon and tie a piece of ribbon into each hole. Tie the ribbons together at the top allowing room to hang your windsock, and your St. Patrick's Day rainbow craft is complete.

Mobile

A rainbow mobile is another fun and easy St. Patrick's Day craft for kids. For this craft you will need two pieces of cardboard, scissors, red, yellow, orange, blue, green, black, and purple paint, ribbon, and glue. Start this project by helping kids cut a rainbow shape out of one piece of cardboard; use the left over cardboard to cut a circle shape for a pot of gold. Next cut a big round circle out of the other piece of cardboard.

When you have all of these pieces together help kids paint them; use all of the colors to paint the rainbow, and use the black and yellow to paint the pot of gold. Remember to paint both sides of the cardboard because they will both be visible. Also allow kids to paint the circle whatever colors they like; green is a good color for this St. Patrick's Day craft.

When everything has dried poke a small hole in the middle of the mobile, and tie a piece of ribbon to it to hang your mobile. Also poke a hole in opposite sides of the circle to add the other items. Glue a piece of ribbon to the rainbow and the pot of gold and tie them to the holes. This fun St. Patrick's Day craft will provide you and your kids with hours of fun.
