Warding off Wrinkles

Wrinkles are inevitable. But you can do a lot to keep them off of your face for years! To help slow down the hands of time on our faces try:

  • Limiting Your Time In The Sun. Sun damage is the #1 reason we wrinkle. Wear an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
  • Eat Lots of Fruits, Vegetables and Fish. They are packed with all the nutrients your skin needs.
  • Stay Hydrated. Your skin needs at leas 8 glasses of water a day to stay supple.
  • Learn to Relax. Stress makes us older before our time and our skin shows it.
  • Don't Smoke. Cigarettes dry out the skin, making it wrinkle prematurely.

Even when you do everything right, wrinkles do eventually show up on all of us. When that times come, here are a few treatments to help you deal with them better:

  • Use Topical Retinoids. Available by prescription, they help the body produce more collagen in the skin.
  • Lasers; a great way to erase skin damaged wrinkles by vaporizing the skin's damaged top-layer.
  • Chemical Peels help reduce aging and wrinkling by removing deeper layers of damaged skin with a mild acid solution.
  • Botox is growing in popularity due to its simplicity and ease. By injecting botulinum toxin (Botox), into the skin, the wrinkled area is immobilized, smoothing them away.
